Grief and the pandemic

The pandemic has brought issues of grief into our lives, and not just for those who have lost loved ones. For many of us, our lives are very different now to what they used to look like in so many ways, resulting in an experience of loss, and for which we may grieve.

When we feel grief we may experience a loss of appetite or feel unwell, have difficulty concentrating, thinking clearly or remembering things.

We may feel we have been robbed of something. We may experience feelings of depression, withdraw socially and question our spiritual beliefs.

We can’t ignore our grief and expect it to go away. It is important to acknowledge, validate and give space to our feelings, while also working to accept the reality of what we have lost.
